Day Three, Part One: Worlds of Fun

Got stuck in some nasty traffic in St. Louis at 7:00, so I didn't get to Worlds of Fun until 11 or so. First park I had to pay full price. The day was much, much nicer than yesterday, temps in the 80s with almost no humidity. At last I could enjoy walking around a park instead of just searching for water. Worked my way around the park clockwise, a really attractive park with not a large crowd of people.

Worlds Of Fun

Boomerang (, 1 out of 4)

Whoopie, another Vekoma boomerang. Rode it and checked it off.

Mamba (, 4 out of 4)

The ride I came to the park for. Having ridden Magnum, Desperado and Steel Force, I've become really enamored of these non-looping hypercoasters. For one, I love not banging my head on overhead restraints, and I find I can ride these again and again with no problems (try riding GASM 5 or 6 times in a row and see if you can walk :-)). Longest wait of the day, about 15 minutes because they were only running one train at the time. Got a bunch of rides, front seat, back seat and many in between. Phenomenal airtime in almost every seat, great views of the Timber Wolf, zippy turnaround with great headchoppers. A really first-class ride.

Orient Express (, 2 out of 4)

I missed this ride last time I was here, so I was anxious to add it to my list. Not a bad looper for an older Arrow design, pretty decent drops and smooth loops.

Oh baby, Mamba!

Mamba again

The 1st drop on Mamba,
that's the Timber Wolf

Again, 1st drop on
Mamba. A great great
hypercoaster.
